What Is Buddy Punch?
Buddy Punch is a cloud time clock and scheduling app for hourly workforces. Employees clock in and out from a computer, a phone or a shared kiosk, authenticating with a PIN, a QR code or facial recognition, and the system records a GPS location and, on paid tiers, a photo with each punch. Managers review time cards, approve them and send hours to payroll.
Around that core sit the pieces an hourly employer needs: a drag-and-drop schedule builder, PTO accruals and requests, overtime alerts, automatic unpaid-break deductions, job costing, attendance reports for late arrivals and missed shifts, and integrations with QuickBooks, Gusto, ADP and other payroll providers. The company also sells its own payroll processing as an add-on.

As of September 2026 the base fee applies on every plan. A three-person team on Starter pays $34 a month, which is over $11 per person, more than double the headline $4.99. The economics only start to look like the sticker price at ten or more users.
No screenshots, app usage or activity levels
Buddy Punch records when and where someone clocked in. It does not describe screenshot capture or activity monitoring anywhere on its site. Desk-based and remote teams that need to verify what was worked on get no help here.
Important controls are Pro-only
Geofencing, photos on punch, the kiosk, offline mode and break compliance all require the $7.99 Pro plan. The Starter tier is closer to a basic time clock than the marketing suggests.
