Work management in a contact center does not look like work management in a project-based business. In a project-based business, work management means task boards, project timelines, and deliverable tracking — tools like Kanban boards and Gantt charts. In a contact center, work is not organized into projects. It arrives as a continuous stream of contacts distributed by the ACD, handled by agents on a schedule, and measured against KPIs and SLAs.

The integration reality: Full automated integration between all systems is rare outside of enterprise platforms that bundle everything. Most contact centers have some manual data transfer — exporting ACD reports and importing into the WFM tool, or pulling QA scores into a spreadsheet for performance reviews. The question is not whether every system is perfectly integrated but whether the critical data flows happen reliably and frequently enough to support decisions.
