Small Businesses Around the World Use HiveDesk to
Monitor Remote Employees, Save Money and Be Productive
Since early 2000s, internet has become more accessible. Fast and affordable web access has made remote work possible for a large number of professionals. Many small businesses started outsourcing both specialist and routine tasks to freelancers or small outsourcing companies across the world.
Small and medium professional services businesses all across the world benefited most from this trend. On the supply side, they could hire the best talent anywhere in the world, at a price they could afford. At the same time, they were able to tap a global market for their services.
In 2007, Tim Ferris published “The 4-Hour Workweek”. The book encouraged entrepreneurs to use leverage – hire cheaper resources to do routine work and free up time to focus on the business. The success of this book, and the ensuing movement, accelerated the growth of Virtual Assistant (VA) industry.
By 2010, it became common for even small businesses in the US to outsource activities like digital marketing activities or software development to a company that employed workers in India, Philippines, Eastern Europe or elsewhere. That trend has only grown stronger over the years.
While businesses reaped the benefits of hiring the best talent at an affordable price, it brought its own set of challenges:
We developed HiveDesk in 2011 to address this need. Over the years, we have stayed focused on our primary goal – to help businesses track time correctly and improve productivity. We said no to adding bells and whistles that took us away from this goal or added unwanted complexity.
We have tried to keep the user interface simple and intuitive while making it more useful. HiveDesk was the first time tracking software that allowed users to schedule automatic reports. The reports are emailed to designated users in PDF and Excel formats automatically, saving time for everyone.
Since that small first step, we have come a long way, thanks to our loyal customers. Today we have customers and users on all six continents and have tracked millions of hours on behalf of our customers. Each month, we help our customers save thousands of dollars in lost revenue, overpay and increased productivity.
